Carnivals & Competition
Kids who want to race can join Surf Sports carnivals throughout the season. It's optional — many kids just enjoy Sunday sessions!
Participation in competition is optional. Many Nippers enjoy weekly sessions without competing, while others choose to take part in events as their confidence grows.
Who Can Race?
- ✓ U6 & U7: Carnivals are for watching and cheering
- ✓ U8: Wading events only (shallow water fun)
- ✓ U9+: Can compete after completing competition assessment
What Kids Can Do
- 🏊 Surf swim
- 🏄 Board race
- 🏃♀️ Beach sprint
- 🏁 Beach flags
- 🤝 Team relays
A Carnival Day
- • Early start, big smiles

- • Kids wear their Fingal colours with pride
Parent & Club Requirements
Surf Life Saving carnivals operate under strict safety guidelines.
- • Clubs are required to supply water safety and officials relative to the number of competitors attending.
- • Parents may be asked to assist where possible, particularly as children move into older age groups.
- • This ensures Fingal Beach SLSC can continue supporting competitors throughout the season.
